We assisted one of our scale-up clients to adopt AI into their growth strategy.

Problem

A people development platform in its scale-up phase came to us with a question. The company was exploring whether they could automate certain services provided by human professionals to keep up with the growth of their business. However, the leadership team recognised that replacing humans with AI could potentially detract from the user experience. They wanted to understand the potential risks, and asked us to create an AI strategy to ensure the technology would enhance user experience, rather than impede it.

Solution

We assembled our social AI and human-computer interaction experts to assess the ethical challenges associated with this transition. We collaborated with the platform’s leadership to identify what services could be complemented with AI and which required a human touch. We clarified the principles that should guide the development and deployment processes and set up a targeted mitigation strategy for short- and long-term risk. Accordingly, we formulated a clear, phased roadmap for the project, incorporating various milestones and points of assessment in line with the business’ projected growth
